In order to withstand the high water pressure as well as mechanical and electrical influences, we have given the inner wires an extra stabilization and also added two tight braided shields which are insulated against each other, i.e. for good measure one shield can be applied to the shell of the XLR connector. It is slightly more rigid than conventional PVC cables, yet almost indestructible.
